BEIRUT, Lebanon A small bomb exploded outside a building north of Beirut on Sunday, in the latest of a string of explosions in Lebanon, security officials said.
There was no immediate word of casualties from the blast, which occurred in the town of Haret al-Sagher, about 25 kilometers north of Beirut, the officials said, speaking conditions of anonymity because they are not authorized to speak to the media.
A series of mysterious bombings have occurred in Lebanon since the massive blast that killed former Prime Minister Rafik Hariri and 20 other people on Feb. 14. Several prominent journalists, politicians and their bodyguards have been killed or wounded in the attacks.
Nobody has been charged for the bombings and the government has acknowledged it is nowhere close to catching the culprits. Some of the bombs have gone off in shopping centers and Christian districts, believed to be hostile to Syrian influence in Lebanon. hd-jbm
